CVE-2026-71476 is a path-traversal vulnerability in Nx self-hosted HTTP remote-cache artifact extraction. Affected Nx versions extract downloaded tar archives without ensuring that archive entries resolve within the intended cache directory. A malicious self-hosted cache server, or an on-path attacker able to modify cache responses, can provide a crafted archive containing traversal entries or malicious link handling that causes writes outside the cache directory. The resulting arbitrary file write can be escalated to remote code execution. The issue also involves improper link resolution (CWE-59). Nx default local cache and Nx Cloud are not affected.

A high-severity arbitrary file-write/path-traversal vulnerability in the Nx self-hosted HTTP remote cache. A malicious or man-in-the-middle remote-cache server can supply a crafted tar archive that writes outside the intended cache directory, potentially escalating to remote code execution. It affects Nx versions 20.8.0 through versions before 22.7.7 and 23.0.2 when configured with a self-hosted remote cache; Nx local cache and Nx Cloud are not affected.
A path traversal / arbitrary file write vulnerability in the Nx self-hosted HTTP remote cache that allows a malicious or MITM remote cache server to supply a crafted tar archive whose files escape the intended cache directory, potentially leading to remote code execution.
