CVE-2026-7378 is an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in sharkd, the Wireshark daemon. sharkd cached display-filter evaluation bitmaps in a session-wide table keyed by filter-string text without clearing that table when a new capture was loaded. A bitmap sized for an earlier, smaller capture could therefore be reused while processing a later capture with more frames, causing sharkd_session_process_frames to read beyond the bitmap allocation and crash. Wireshark versions 4.6.0 through 4.6.4 and 4.4.0 through 4.4.14 are affected.
