CVE-2026-7423 is an integer underflow vulnerability in the ICMP and ICMPv6 echo reply handlers in FreeRTOS-Plus-TCP before versions 4.4.1 and 4.2.6. When processing echo replies, the code subtracts protocol header sizes from a packet length field without first verifying that the length is at least as large as the headers being removed. If a malformed packet carries an undersized length value, this subtraction underflows, producing an invalid large length and leading to a heap out-of-bounds read of up to approximately 65 KB. The issue is reachable in configurations where outgoing ping support is enabled.
