CVE-2026-7461 is an OS command injection vulnerability in the FSx Windows File Server volume mounting component of Amazon ECS Agent on Windows prior to version 1.103.0. The flaw stems from improper neutralization of attacker-controlled input before it is used in an operating system command. Specifically, a specially crafted username field supplied through an ECS task definition, or through credentials sourced from AWS Secrets Manager or SSM Parameter Store for the FSx volume configuration, can be interpreted by the underlying command execution path during volume mounting. A remote authenticated attacker who can influence that username value can trigger arbitrary shell command execution on the ECS container host.
