CVE-2026-74783 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in Scriban, a .NET templating engine, affecting versions 6.6.0 through 7.2.0. The flaw is caused by a non-enforcing ExpressionDepthLimit guard in the recursive-descent parser. Although a depth limit mechanism exists, it does not actually prevent excessive parser recursion when processing deeply nested expressions. An attacker can submit crafted templates containing deeply nested parentheses, array initializers, object initializers, or chains of unary operators, causing the parser to recurse until the .NET runtime raises a StackOverflowException. Because this exception is uncatchable in normal application handling, exploitation immediately terminates the hosting process.
