CVE-2026-76560 is an authorization bypass in 389 Directory Server's SELFDN access-control-instruction (ACI) bind-rule evaluator. The evaluator compares the LDAP client's bind distinguished name with an entry's stored ownership attribute as text without ensuring that the client is authenticated. An anonymous LDAP bind has an empty bind DN, which incorrectly satisfies a SELFDN ownership check when the relevant stored value is also empty. An anonymous client can therefore satisfy an ACI intended to restrict an operation to the authenticated owner of a directory entry.
