CVE-2026-78159 is a critical unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability in The Events Calendar for WordPress through version 6.17.3. Insufficient validation of an attacker-controlled widget classes map permits a plain-array legacy-widget payload to bypass the is_safe_widget_instance() object check. The resulting values are merged into widget template arguments and can reach Element_Classes::parse_array(), which accepts dynamically supplied callable values. This enables attacker-controlled invocation of PHP or WordPress callables during rendering of a single-event page containing the crafted comment.

A critical unauthenticated vulnerability in The Events Calendar WordPress plugin in which a specially crafted array bypasses a safety check and reaches callable PHP functionality through the widget template system. It can invoke WordPress functions with attacker-controlled arguments, including resetting an administrator password, enabling administrative takeover and subsequent remote code execution through malicious-plugin upload.
A critical unauthenticated vulnerability in The Events Calendar WordPress plugin in which a crafted array can pass a safety check and reach a widget-template function accepting callable PHP functions. It can be used to invoke WordPress functions with attacker-controlled arguments, including resetting an administrator password, leading to administrator takeover and subsequent remote code execution.
A critical unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability in The Events Calendar WordPress plugin. Attacker-controlled Gutenberg block markup in an event comment can reach Element_Classes::parse_array(), where an insufficiently restricted is_callable() check permits invocation of arbitrary PHP functions. The described attack can reset an administrator password via wp_update_user and subsequently enable full site takeover.
An unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability in The Events Calendar WordPress plugin through version 6.17.3. A crafted wp:legacy-widget block in a comment can bypass widget-instance validation and reach a callable invocation sink when WordPress processes the affected event page's comment area.
