CVE-2026-82208 is an improper TLS certificate validation flaw in libcurl when using the wolfSSL TLS backend. If CA caching is enabled and an application’s CURLOPT_SSL_CTX_FUNCTION callback replaces the TLS trust store, libcurl can restore its cached CA store after the callback returns. Consequently, certificate validation can use cached trust anchors rather than the application-selected trust store, accepting a certificate that the callback configuration intended to reject. The issue is fixed in curl and libcurl 8.22.0.

A libcurl certificate-trust validation flaw affecting the wolfSSL backend when CA caching and a CURLOPT_SSL_CTX_FUNCTION callback that replaces the trust store are used. Libcurl can restore its cached CA store after the callback, potentially accepting a certificate that the callback-selected trust store rejects.
A wolfSSL CA-cache handling vulnerability in which a cache hit overrides a callback in curl and libcurl.
A critical network-reachable vulnerability affecting the curl package on listed Ubuntu and Debian Linux releases. The supplied CVSS v3 vector indicates no privileges or user interaction are required and potential impact is high to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
