CVE-2026-82617 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in Apache OpenNLP built-in EMAIL and URL name-finder regular expressions exposed by RegexNameFinderFactory. The patterns contain ambiguous nested quantifiers. The EMAIL pattern can exhibit approximately quadratic backtracking when processing a long local-part-like character sequence that lacks a terminating @ character. The URL pattern contains nested query-string repetition that can drive recursive Java regular-expression matching once per query token, ultimately propagating a StackOverflowError. Affected versions are OpenNLP 2.0.0 through 2.5.11 and 3.0.0-M1 through 3.0.0-M5.
