CVE-2026-85717 is a cross-origin credential-disclosure vulnerability in the AsyncHttpClient Java library affecting versions 2.14.5–2.16.0 and 3.0.9–3.0.11. When a client uses a client-wide Realm and follows redirects, cross-origin redirect handling clears the per-exchange realm, but the Interceptors authentication path falls back to the client-wide configuration. An attacker-controlled redirect destination returning HTTP 401 can consequently receive Basic or Digest credentials, or a Negotiate or NTLM authentication token. Per-request realms are correctly stripped. The vulnerability is a residual bypass of earlier cross-origin credential-stripping fixes and is corrected in versions 2.16.1 and 3.0.12.

A credential-disclosure vulnerability in AsyncHttpClient versions 2.14.5–2.16.0 and 3.0.9–3.0.11. When client-wide authentication and redirect following are enabled, an attacker-controlled cross-origin redirect target returning HTTP 401 can receive Basic or Digest credentials, or Negotiate or NTLM tokens. Per-request realms are stripped correctly. This is a residual bypass of earlier cross-origin credential-stripping fixes, rated CVSS v3 6.8. Fixed versions are 2.16.1 and 3.0.12.
A remotely reachable Ubuntu Linux vulnerability requiring high attack complexity and no privileges or user interaction. Successful exploitation can cause a scope change and high confidentiality impact; the supplied metadata indicates no integrity or availability impact. The content does not identify the vulnerable component or technical root cause.
A cross-origin redirect credential-disclosure vulnerability in AsyncHttpClient. A client-wide Realm configured on the client could be re-applied after a redirect and disclose Basic or Digest credentials, or Negotiate or NTLM tokens, to an attacker-controlled origin.
