CVE-2026-85721 is an uncontrolled resource-allocation vulnerability in AsyncHttpClient automatic HTTP response decompression. On the HTTP/1.1 path, ChannelManager installs an Http1ContentDecompressor that does not enforce a cumulative decompressed-output limit for an entire response. A compressed response can therefore expand across arbitrarily many chunks until the Java heap is exhausted. gzip, deflate, and snappy response encodings are affected; brotli and zstd are also affected when their optional codecs are installed. AsyncHttpClient 3.0.8 through 3.0.10 also have unbounded HTTP/2 decompression.

A network-accessible, low-complexity vulnerability affecting Debian Linux 12.0, including the async-http-client package. The supplied CVSS v3 vector indicates no privileges or user interaction are required and impacts availability only (CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H).
An unbounded HTTP response decompression vulnerability in AsyncHttpClient that permits a malicious compressed response to exhaust client memory and cause a denial of service.
