CVE-2026-85781 is an authorization vulnerability in the Amazon EFS CSI Driver volume-deletion component before version 3.4.1. When the non-default delete-access-point-root-dir option is enabled, the driver fails to verify that the EFS access point specified in a PersistentVolume volume handle belongs to the filesystem referenced by that handle. A user able to create PersistentVolumes can submit a crafted handle that associates an access point from one filesystem with a different target filesystem, causing the controller to perform recursive directory deletion on the target filesystem.
