CVE-2026-86248 is an Apache Tomcat certificate-validation vulnerability caused by an incomplete remediation of CVE-2026-34500. In affected deployments using the FFM implementation, OCSP validation may soft-fail during CLIENT_CERT authentication even when soft-fail behavior is disabled. Consequently, Tomcat may accept client-certificate authentication in scenarios where failed revocation-status validation should cause authentication to fail. Affected versions are Tomcat 11.0.0-M14 through 11.0.25, 10.1.22 through 10.1.59, and 9.0.92 through 9.0.121.
