CVE-2026-87022 is an improper validation of specified quantity in input vulnerability in Apache Tomcat WebSocket handling. When the WebSocket per-message-deflate extension is enabled, inconsistent length parameters can be handled incorrectly, allowing an attacker to smuggle WebSocket messages. Affected versions include Tomcat 11.0.0-M1 through 11.0.25, 10.1.0-M1 through 10.1.59, and 9.0.0-M1 through 9.0.121. End-of-support Tomcat 8.5.0 through 8.5.100 and 7.0.56 through 7.0.109 are also known to be affected.
