CVE-2026-8793 is an authentication weakness in the PaperCut NG/MF login component. The product does not properly restrict excessive authentication attempts, allowing repeated login submissions without effective account lockout or rate-limiting protections in some configurations. This enables an unauthenticated remote attacker to systematically attempt large numbers of username and password combinations, including brute-force and credential-stuffing attacks, against exposed authentication interfaces.
